Psychosis and ADHD Drugs

Taking sympathomimetic drugs like amphetamine and methylphenidate can increase the risk of psychotic episodes, particularly in individuals predisposed to psychosis. While stopping methylphenidate often alleviates symptoms, the same cannot be said for Adderall, which may lead to long-lasting psychosis. Methamphetamine, known for its severe health risks, poses significant dangers, including neurotoxicity and a propensity to induce psychosis, making it a particularly harmful substance.
