I have a question about the episode Lies you’ve been told by your doctor! A conversation with Ken Berry, MD and the clip Cholesterol Confusion. I did my bloodwork, and my cholesterol came up super high: LDL 7.5, NON-HDL 8.2, HDL 1.35, Total Cholesterol 9.6, HDL Ratio 7.12, Triglycerides 1.68. The doctor wants to put me on statins, but at 38 years old, I don't feel comfortable with that. I've listened to many of your podcasts and experts opposing statins. Should I go on statins, or should I approach a more aggressive diet/lifestyle? Are statins the only way if I am diagnosed with Familial Hypercholesterolemia?
