Intelligence Explosion

François explains why an intelligence explosion is not possible by drawing parallels between AI and science. While recursive self-improvement is real, no system exists in isolation, and tweaking one part of the system means that another part becomes a bottleneck. Scientific progress is not exploding, and the output is linear in terms of progress.
