How can diet impact children's health in the context of the episode "Protecting Your Kids From Sugar: Recipes, Label Reading + Setting Boundaries | Dr. Michael Goran" and the clips "Parenting Through Food" from the episode "How To Overcome Sugar Addiction" and "Childhood Obesity Crisis"?
Hello Huberman Lab! I homeschool my 6 beautiful children, and we try to actively live the lifestyle that rejects popular American culture's obsession with and addiction to sugar, as well as subscribe to natural and traditional ways to improve health through proper lifestyle choices. As my children age, I am realizing that my efforts to prepare that lifestyle for them need to slowly trickle down into them learning the specifics so they may make choices for themselves and practice before they leave the coop. I am unable to find any resources on metabolic health for kids that truly reflect the reality of how dire the situation is, including resources on the impact of diet and lifestyle choices—on sleep, fermented foods, etc. Do you know of any resources where I could start looking? I am looking for resources, curriculum, conferences, books, journals, workbooks—anything geared toward kids that goes beyond just saying "you need to eat from all 5 food groups." Where could I start besides using your resources and creating a curriculum from scratch? (I already own several of the books written by people featured on your podcasts and will be happy to own the book you have written very soon!) Lastly, THANK YOU for doing what you do. It has been life-changing for me and all of the tiny ripples I affect around me. Thanks, Katie Finley
