since a bereavement 3 years ago, I have (even more) trouble falling asleep, and, for the first time at 41 (at the time), I was waking up, and could not stay asleep. Separately, I started having songs stuck on repeat in my head, almost always, if my mind is idling. the son changes, but I can't really stop it. Are there any supplements that you would recommend for this?

For sleep-related issues such as trouble falling asleep, waking up frequently, and having repetitive thoughts like songs stuck in your head, certain supplements may offer help. recommends several supplements that can positively impact sleep:
Magnesium Threonate or Bisglycinate - These forms of magnesium are known for their high bioavailability, meaning they are well-absorbed by the body and can help improve the quality and depth of sleep.
Theanine - Often found in tea, Theanine can help relax the mind and facilitate a more restful sleep by reducing mental chatter and promoting relaxation.
Apigenin - A naturally occurring flavonoid found in foods like chamomile, which can have a calming effect and improve sleep quality by reducing anxiety.
Myo-inositol - It can aid in calming the mind, potentially useful for reducing repetitive thoughts, contributing to better sleep quality.
Huberman advises considering your behavioral practices (like exposure to natural light, exercise, and relaxation techniques) alongside supplements. He also stresses exploring the possibility of dependencies with supplements by occasionally taking breaks to assess your sleep quality without them 12.
Before starting any supplementation, it's critical to consult a healthcare provider to ensure they suit your personal health needs and conditions.
