Dear Mr. Huberman, My brother, Cory Collins 50yrs, had a bilateral ischemic thalami CBA on Sept 9th, 2024 after a very active day of teaching, cooking dinner, jujitsu with his daughter and picking up his son after youth band practice at the church. He fell asleep in his chair and 30 mins later he was unresponsive. He had no signs of distress before his stroke. He is diabetic. His blood sugar was 488 when the ambulance arrived, his A1C was 13 upon arrival at BSA Hospital in Amarillo Texas. High, we know, they are now controlling it with insulin as he is still in the hospital doing in-patient rehab. He does not have hypertension, he is not obese, he does not have Afib, and he does not have enough plaque to have cause such a sever stroke. his current symptoms are many, but he is better every day. Baby steps...A marathon not a sprint. I am writing because 1) we do not have a neurologist and are not medically trained and 2) we have discovered the less than 2% of the world population has this type of stroke, so there is very little information and no one is telling us anything. Cory and his wife, Becky, have a very active life with four kids 14, 13, and two 9yrs olds. Cory has been accepted to Moody Neuro-care Center in Lubbock TX but he is 5th in line for a charity bed as they do not accept his insurance. Because this type of stoke is so rare, I was wondering if your team might be interested in or know someone who would be interested in studying his case. I've watched you on Joe Rogan and Huberman lab but forgot that you are a neuroscientist until this last Friday, Oct 11th, while I was driving back to Amarillo and listening to your latest appearance with Joe (it was great, as always). Please help us as we navigate this very surreal time in our lives. With my deepest and most sincere Thank you, Amanda Collins May, Texas. Ladyaj10\@gmail.com or 806-319-1809
